Project files

Overview

TOPALi project files hold all settings and results related to the current alignment file you are working on.

When the project is first created (see creating a new project), a copy of the alignment file is merged with the project. This allows you to work with this data from within TOPALi without adversely affecting the original. This data is also highly compressed - in most cases, a TOPALi project file, complete with alignment data and multiple analysis results data will still be significantly smaller than the original alignment file on its own.

In addition to the alignment data, a project will also maintain and store the results from any analysis runs that are carried out. This includes the visual representation of the graphs, along with the raw data required to draw them. Any selected partitions that have been added to the Partitions dialog will also be saved, along with any Phylogenetic trees that were created from them.
